I'm So Excited!

Hi Everyone! I can't believe that after years of hard work, my first novel 'One December' is finally published! So far it is only available on Amazon in paperback, but more versions will be available soon from more places. And for anyone that might be reading this that has a dream to accomplish something that makes them truly happy ... I am proof that if you just don't give up, it will happen! Its never too late. Who knows if anyone will even read my book, outside of my sister, but it doesn't matter. I went through this process of finishing my novel, learning how to publish and market on my own, and it feels really good. So rewarding! And it all starts with the first step! I don't normally do New Year's Resolutions but in 2020 I did. There were things going on in my life that made it hard to get up in the morning ... to be any shade of happy ... So I thought to myself, "What could I do just for me, that would make me happy?" The answer I came up with was something that had always brought me joy. Writing! I had a handful of stories that were in different stages of unfinish, but I picked 'One December', because when I started it, it was winter. The story was about the lead up to Christmas, which made me think of all of the Hallmark and Lifetime movies I had watched. Because as you all know, Covid shutdown everything shortly after my New Year's Resolution epiphany and there wasn't much else to do except watch a lot of television! And I started to find the predictability of those movies to be so comforting. You know the ones I mean, right? The Christmas movies or the 'girl meets boy, girl hates boy, girl falls in love with boy' non-Christmas storyline? So if you read 'One December' and get a few inklings of Deja Vu. You're on to something. It's a good format and I happen to think that a happy ending is still in style. So who knows? Maybe you'll find a happy ending as you turn the last page of 'One December'. Or maybe ... it will only be the beginning!
