I grew up with a sister that was an avid reader. Even though she is only a little older than me, she was always light years ahead of me in just about everything. So most of her books were above my level. But when she was reading SE Hinton's "THE OUTSIDERS", I asked her to tell me what the book was about, like I always did. She relayed the story in a way that made me want to read it too. I wanted to know Ponyboy Curtis, his brothers and his friends. When she finished, I had my chance. When I finally came to the last page, I wanted to read it again. So I did. I don't even know how many times I lost myself in those pages. It was the start of a lifelong love of the stories waiting for me between a book's covers. (and yes, the next book I read was "That Was Then, This Is Now")

What was the first book you fell in love with?
